2010 World Cup's Most Shocking Moments #17: Melo's Meltdown

COPYRIGHT BBC © 2011. NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED.

About: Richard Bacon is ably assisted by England legend David Seaman as he takes a hilarious look back at the 50 greatest shocks from the most explosive World Cup of all time – South Africa 2010.
The programme relives the most controversial moments of the summer – from Rob Green’s horrific blunder against the USA to the French team going on strike; from Uruguay cheating Ghana out of a place in the semi-final to Frank Lampard’s infamous ‘goal that never was’.
But the show isn’t just about the shocks that stole the headlines. There are also the brilliant moments that may have slipped under the radar – Fabio Capello daring to bully Stuart Pearce, Emmanuel Eboue attempting to speak Korean and the magical madness of Diego Maradona. We hear from the man who invaded England’s dressing room after the Algeria game and find about the referee who found his own mistake funny.
It includes expert opinion from comedians, players, pundits and journalists such as Jack Whitehall, Dave Renton Skinner, David Schneider, Tom Deecon, Mark Lawrenson and Chris Kamara.
Fast paced, funny and packed with bizarre stories, it is the definitive look back at all that was good and very, very bad at the 2010 World Cup.

Man if it wasn't for Melo Brazil would of won this World cup…

Marcelo, 11' Brazil 0-1 Croatia

Reply

thank you melo my revenge for robben is done

Reply

First OG: Felipe Melo
Second OG: Mar celo xD

Reply

even though he is not the main character in this incident, i must say sneijder (hope i spelled his name right) is a very open minded person, he still attempted to comfort melo even it was melo's own fault for melting down at such a bad time

Reply

I like how when arjen robben is stamped he is like: wtf? He seems to be more in pain when he fell

Reply

Well…… Marcelo's the second Brazilian to score an own goal in the opening game?????

Reply

On the bright side for him at least marcelo scored an own goal

… they must be good mates

Reply

At least Felipe Melo is not the only Brazilian to score an own goal anymore with Marcelo making a dumbass out of himself this World Cup.

Reply

From hero to zero to most hated man in Brazil…..all in one game.  Congratulations Feliple Melo.

Reply

HAHAHA MOTHERFUCKING MELO

Reply

Marcelo scored an own goal

Reply

Like als je in Nederland woont

Reply

And that's why he's not playing for brazil anymore

Reply

Is there a reason he isn't on the world cup team this year? I mean I know he choked insanely but he's still a solid player.

Reply

The first song is "smile like you mean it" The Killers

Reply

Sloppy second? what kind of cunt is commentating this video?

Reply

0:23 looks like Michael from gta 5

Reply

No matter how easy the goal is, its also just as easy for the blonde girl to critic so harshly -.-

Reply

He needs to do a Beckham next year.

Reply

it seems like this show criticizes everybody except england? hahah fuckin trolls

Reply

Then, the spaniards came and squeezed all the juice out of the orange:)
Holland had a great squad though.

Reply

u suck barzil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reply

Smile like you mean it – The Killers

Reply

whats the song in the backround?

Reply

One think i know is usa can't play great soccer and they can't never win a world cup and i will never want them to win

Reply

Brazil got even more advanced even though they are but they got the squad to win it at home

Reply

so true! melo was clearing the ball and Cesar almost punched him…
if Cesar had stayed in goal there would be no red card

Reply

I will never forgive u Melo. U cost us the world CUP 2010. I SEE U…I SPIT AT YOU

Reply

Well, Brazil traditionally has a pretty high turn-over anyways.

Reply

he did get a own goal on the game but days later
the goal was rewarded to Sneijder

Reply

The cheapness from holland is really what killed them. The amount of diving, was insane.

Reply

Melo is not a CB, dumbass.

Reply

Own goal and a red card? Only thing that he could've done worse would be injuring his own teammate as well.

Reply

It's 'Smile Like You Mean It' from the 2004 album Hot Fuss

Reply

I don't see why he was blamed, his 'own goal' wasn't completely his fault and if anything, it cancelled out his assist from the 1st half. He was very stupid to react the way he did and deserved the red card but Brazil were going to lose anyway

Reply

melo isn't and was never a centre back. usual clueless commentary from the english. he's a central midfielder. on that day, lucio and juan were the central defensive partnership for brazil.

Reply

Playing a The Killers song in the background, hell yeah 😀
